This was our 4th Murder mystery party from Nightofmystery and our biggest by far. We had 35 characters! We planned on throwing this party last year to celebrate the return of the 20’s, but we all know what changed that! We didn’t want to do a virtual party so we decided to wait. We knew we were going with Murder at the Juice Joint and we took advantage of the extra time to work on our party decor. My husband went to work on his now famous party props. Pinterest has such great ideas he was able to replicate. He made a fake entrance we put at the start of our walkway and lined the walk with brick backdrop, making our guests had to use the “secret entrance” to the Juice Joint. He replaced our screen door with a cardboard sheet painted to look like a steel door with a peep slot. We messaged our guests earlier in the week to give them the secret password to get in.
We covered the walls in our living room with black and gold column backdrop and set up our jazz band silhouettes the hubby made. He also made a giant arch display we set up for photos. We used plastic drop cloth sprayed gold to hang behind it, it was the focal point in our living room and made for some great pictures. He even made a violin case to hide a Tommy gun in!
Looking forward to planning the next party.. Patty Kummer Dartmouth,Ma.
