Arrrr! We just completed Murder Among the Mateys this past weekend. About half of the group was new to murder mysteries and half had completed a smaller scale boxed murder mystery last year.

We loved the ability to add more people to the fun this year and the ability for people to get creative with their roles.

Everyone got very into it. My neighbors were very intrigued with the massive pirate flag and Toothless Willie sitting outside my house as well as my very loud greeting to everyone welcoming them to the Salty Sea Dog. When the pizza guy delivered our pizzas, he really wanted to come inside to see what was happening.

We had one character working with others to plant jewelry on other characters, tons of secret meetings, and another player that kept trying to bring people to justice with no success. All the game objectives helped introduce people that did not know each other…although many people still refer to one another by their character names. Everyone had such a good time that they were asking about the theme for next year.
