Stephanie’s Murderously Memorable Night in Margaritaland! | Party of the Month July 2025!

🌺 Welcome to Margaritaland
Dear Night of Mystery Team,
We hosted our very first Murder Mystery party with Night of Mystery, and it was an absolute tropical crime scene of fun! For Stephanie’s 35th birthday, we transported 20 guests (plus one savvy concierge) straight into Margaritaland, and it turned out to be a night we’ll never forget.
Guests were greeted at check-in by Connie Sierge, our island concierge, who handed out their character packets, got them lei’d, and directed them to the TIPSY TIKI bar for their first (of many) tropical cocktails. A custom “Suspects Wall” awaited—each guest had their photo taken by the beach backdrop and later again at the Margaritaland Jail if they were implicated in the murder. And let’s just say… there were a lot of suspects.
💃 Guests Came Ready to Kill (the Look)
Every single guest showed up in character and in costume, from Lucky Numbers flashing wads of cash and a cigar, to BJ Baggage hauling the drama (and luggage), to Thurston Howard III arriving with Candy Cotton and a bottle of “very expensive wine.” Meanwhile, Kylie Cocktail couldn’t keep her tray of jello shots full—one for the guests, two for herself!
The guests didn’t just show up. They showed out. The TIPSY TIKI bar was the heart of the party. Our signature drinks were a hit, especially the fiery Island Inferno(Jalapeño Watermelon Margarita), the Slushy Suspect, and the Innocent Island Breeze for our scandal-free guests.
Next to the bar, a pool roped off with caution tape and surrounded by beach decor hinted at danger lurking below the surface. Life Savin’ Sam stood tall at the lifeguard station—our very own island watchman (who may or may not have had a few too many daiquiris).
We even had a tattoo station run by Tatum Tatt, complete with a tackle box full of temporary tats, a tip jar, and a line of guests waiting for their island ink. (Move over Grandma Tattoo Artist—Tatum’s coming for the crown!)
✨ Sippin’ in Style
We didn’t just serve drinks—we served main character energy in glass form. Every guest received their very own personalized margarita glass, custom-labeled with their name. It wasn’t just a drink—it was a statement. A souvenir. A status symbol. Because in Margaritaland, you don’t just sip—you sip in style.
The Talk of the Island Bulletin Board featured our custom menu, complete with pun-filled food descriptions that tied directly into the mystery. Guests feasted on:
- Tiki Tango Meatballs (Coconut Joe’s go-to dish)
- Kalua Killer Pork (slow-roasted to alibi perfection)
- Murder Mac Mix (as smooth as a good lie)
- Tiki Tower Musubi, Forbidden Fruit, Tiki Topple Cake, and The Dark Coconut Deception—all tied to guest characters!
🏆 Awards & Antics
What’s a murder in Margaritaland without a little over-the-top recognition? We ended the night with four custom awards, each with its own hilariously themed gift bag—packed with snacks, sass, and a tropical twist. Here’s a sneak peek at our standout suspects and the tongue-in-cheek prizes they earned:
Dressed to Kill – BJ Baggage
BJ didn’t just roll up—he rolled in style, turning heads (and raising suspicion) with his killer look. His award included fashion-friendly candy accessories, a red carpet refreshment from Rita’s, and a notebook for tracking compliments, witness statements… or enemies.
Drama Queen – Thurston Howard III
He arrived leaning on a cane, but after the chaos, cocktails, and scandal of Margaritaland, he declared he no longer needed it. With sunglasses, sass, and emotional whiplash, he earned a prize packed with Hot Tamales, Airheads, and pineapple incense—because you can’t start drama without something to calm it down later.
Ruthless & Rich – Coconut Joe (shared with Tatum Tatt)
Our host Coconut Joe walked away dripping in riches—then immediately split his award with tattoo tycoon Tatum Tatt, who inked his way into everyone’s hearts (and biceps). Their shared loot? A pineapple prize, PayDay bar, luxury Lindt, and a toast to “totally legitimate” income streams.
Smoking Gun – Agent Hollywood, Cabana Bob, Sgt. Lord & Starr Bright
While the rest of Margaritaland was jello-shot-deep in island gossip, these four quietly cracked the case. Armed with flashlights, composition notebooks, and suspiciously sharp instincts, they pieced together the puzzle before the sunscreen dried. Their sleuth kits included Smarties, Lemonheads, Fast Break bars, and sandalwood-scented justice—with a Rita’s to sip in triumph.
This party was an absolute first for nearly all of our guests—it was their very first Murder Mystery experience, and they fully committed.
(We, the hosts, were the only ones who had done one before—Trailer Park Tragedy in December 2022—and we knew Night of Mystery would deliver again. Spoiler alert: it did.)
We leaned all the way in—from decorations and drinks to immersive character play and tropical flair. Everyone came with energy, enthusiasm, and hilarious in-character antics that brought Margaritaland to life.
It was full of wild surprises, killer costumes, custom drinks, themed food, laughter, and memories our crew won’t forget.
We had so much fun planning and executing this unforgettable party—and it all started with your incredible mystery.
A HUGE thank you to Night of Mystery for giving us the tools to throw the most talked-about event of the year.
We’re officially hooked!
