My boyfriend and I decided to incorporate a murder mystery party into Friendsmas this year and it was a hit! This is the 2nd murder mystery party that we hosted both within 3 weeks of each. Fifteen of us enjoyed Ho Ho Homicide; it was a first for most of the guests and they can’t wait to do it again! We kept the decorations relatively simple focusing more on the Christmas tree and photo props. I did create the ‘falling snow’ with cotton balls threaded on strings. It was beautiful and got rave reviews. We also had a sleigh and cutout reindeer that we used in many of the attached pictures. My favorite prop in both this murder mystery party and our last one (Trailer Park Tragedy) was the mug shot background. The last attachment shows a compilation of our guests and his/her mug shot.
Mrs. Claus’ cuisine consisted of Santa’s Sleigh Sliders, Ho Ho Ho Meatballs, Ivy’s Chipped Venison Dip, Bouncy’s Christmas Crack, Jingling Jello Shots, Goodies Galore and Egg Nog.
The guests thoroughly embraced their character; we were all decked out! Big smiles and laughter ensued from the moment the guests arrived until the wee hours of the night.
For prizes, we gave out a bottle of wine, a case of beer, 3 small bottles of Champagne and a $20 Amazon gift card. Ivy had a stellar performance…from being in tears at times to being very accusatory with the reindeer. She was a hoot!
It was definitely an evening that we’ll all remember and talk about for years! Thank you so much Night of Mystery!
